Jeannine Glau Church

After graduating and successfully passing the FAA licensing tests, Jeannine landed a mechanic job with Continental Airlines. Her entry level job has stretched into a twenty-year career with the company which has included assignments in Denver, Los Angeles, and Houston.

First working as an aircraft mechanic, she advanced to aircraft coordinator, then to supervisor of shop planning and eventually to her current Houston position of line control supervisor.

Laura Geiser
EGOS GRAD FINDS SUCCESS AS A BUSINESS OWNER

Owning a business never entered Laura Geiser’s mind when she enrolled in the Early Childhood Professions (ECP) class at Emily Griffith Opportunity School in 1991. Instead, she hoped to acquire skills to become a better parent. However, Laura’s outstanding teacher, Aroxie Feldman, inspired her to achievements beyond her wildest dreams.

Hoping to hone her parenting skills, Laura checked out Emily Griffith Opportunity School. She enrolled in its ECP program. Upon completion of the year-long course, she wanted more.

Milroy Alexander

EGOS OPENS THE DOOR FOR A CARIBBEAN IMMIGRANT TO BECOME
DIRECTOR OF COLORADO HOUSING AND FINANCE AUTHORITY

Sometimes small investments pay huge dividends. Such is the case with Milroy “Roy” Alexander who immigrated to Denver from the Caribbean Island of Grenada.

Arriving in Denver in 1970 expecting to enroll in college, Roy was shocked and disappointed when Metropolitan State College denied him admittance. However, rather than returning to his low-income island, he persevered and discovered Emily Griffith Opportunity School.

To realize his dreams, Roy enrolled in the EGOS GED program and successfully passed the exam. From there he enrolled in Metro where he obtained an accounting degree.
